Dear Sir: What would you call the enclosed picture —the ultimate in motoring or the last word in movie making? I will leave it up to you. It all started when Father went shopping for a new car and the auto dealer wanted to sell him everything from an electric shaver to a lawn mower as an extra to go with the car. Father just snorted and kept looking for a car with a sensible accessory like a camera.

We seem to be lined up on a “scoop” this month—a portable strobe unit whose “guts” are compact and light enough to be attached to the underside of a derby and whose light output is sufficient for box-camera shooting. The manufacturer, Strobo Research of Milwaukee, tells us that the unit will not be ready for several months and that price and other data will be announced as soon as practical.
