On the cover of this magazine each month is INKED’s mantra: “Culture. Style. Art.” In my opinion, we do an amazing job highlighting those areas of the tattooed world, but as we start a new year we not only want to reflect on the tattoo scene but contribute more to it.

TY KU CITRUS LIQUEUR
This bottle lights up as the liquor is being poured, thanks to motion-detection technology. It’s the nightclub equivalent of ordering sizzling fajitas at Chili’s. Order your table a bottle and watch the girls arrive like moths to a flame.

HEINEKEN IGNITE
What began as a concept prototype at Milan Design Week is now becoming a reality: Heineken’s Ignite bottle responds to activity by lighting up when you take a sip, clink bottles, or even when you’ve neglected it for too long.
Robert McCormick
Alcohol companies are always trying to draw us in with clever packaging, be it bottle shapes or label art. Now, a few are even working lights and black-light effects into their glass containers. If you are looking to get lit up like a Christmas tree you can reach for one of the bottles here, which also serve as great last-minute presents or conversation pieces for holiday cocktail parties.

Super Graphic
What do Superman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Flash have in common? They all wear red, as we realized while reading Super Graphic: A Visual Guide to the Comic Book Universe by Tim Leong, the design director of Fortune magazine. It includes graphs for the secondary colors that super-villains wear, Venn diagrams detailing which heroes wear their capes and underwear on the outside of their costumes, and a pie chart of the pizzas that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles consumed, including one with chocolate sprinkles and clam sauce.

ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES
We’re finally getting the sequel we’ve all been clamoring for, and Will Ferrell reprises one of the best roles ever in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Director Adam McKay returns, as well as Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), bumbling weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner). This time, San Diego’s top-rated news anchor takes on the teleprompter at New York’s first 24-hour news channel. Expect much hilarity and a handful of cameos by various Hollywood heavyweights. Go fuck yourself.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG
The single book that, for some reason, was split into three movies returns this holiday season with its second chapter, The Desolation of Smaug. When we last left our furry-footed Bilbo and the dwarves, Thorin had just had his ass handed to him by Azog, and they all narrowly escaped thanks to giant eagles, then landed on the footsteps of Mirkwood Forest. We’ll for sure see elves, Laketown, and Bard, and Bilbo will finally stand off with the titular dragon. Gandalf and the White Council further investigate the Necromancer in the film’s subplot. We look forward to this butt-numbing adventure as well as next year’s epic finale.

47 RONIN
Carl Rinsch (The Gift) directs this badass 3-D fantasy epic filled with mythical monsters, sorcerers, and samurais. After a ruthless warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, a band of samurais are driven from their home. Lost and leaderless, the troop soon reunites in hopes of avenging their leader’s death and regaining their honor with the help of Kai (Keanu Reeves), an outcast “half-breed” warrior they once banished from their lands. Together they number 47, versus an evil army of thousands. Be on the lookout for Rick Genest (a.k.a. Zombie Boy), who plays a character named Savage.

DEXTER: THE COMPLETE SERIES
Whether you loved or hated how the show ended, there’s no denying that Dexter had a great run on TV. Now you can experience all eight acclaimed seasons in two supersexy, complete collections of your choice. Our favorite is the Amazon.com exclusive, which comes in a sleek bust and head packaging that represents an anonymous Dexter kill. You also get “Grafix: The Art of Dexter,” a collection of photography, and more than three hours of behind-the-scene interviews, featurettes, and documentaries “The Evolution of Dexter Morgan" and “The Code." This would make a killer stocking stuffer.

ASSASSIN’S CREED IV: BLACK FLAG
PLATFORMS: XBOX ONE AND 360, PLAYSTATION 4 AND 3, WII U, PC Who rivals assassins in badassery? Pirates. What happens when you mix them together? Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. For the series' next-generation console debut, Ubisoft blends its signature stealth action with high seas swashbuckling. When he’s not killing Templar agents with his hidden blade, Edward Kenway can be found drinking rum in Caribbean ports, exploring the uncharted islands, and rubbing shoulders with infamous pirates like Blackbeard and Charles Vane. As you plunder the many treasures the natives and colonists have to offer, you can spend your spoils on your vessel, the Jackdaw, to make it an even more formidable frigate. Features intense sea battles, colorful island characters, and a large, open world to scout. PLAY IF YOU LIKE: Pirates of the Caribbean, Treasure Island, sea shanties

WATCH DOGS
PLATFORMS: XBOX ONE AND 360, PLAYSTATION 4 AND 3, WII U, PC Most video game heroes rely solely upon highcaliber weaponry to do their dirty work. Not Aiden Pearce. By tapping into the various networks around Chicago, this scoundrel hacker can dig up sensitive information on his enemies, kill the power for entire neighborhood blocks to avoid detection from police, and alter the trafficlight system to aid in his getaways should things get messy. This high-tech, open-world sandbox puts all of these tools at your disposal as you seek revenge for a family tragedy. Tread lightly, though; other players can infiltrate your game to disrupt your carefully laid plans. Paranoia has never been a more valuable asset. PLAY IF YOU LIKE: Enemy of the State, Sleeping Dogs, A Scanner Darkly

SOUTH PARK: THE STICK OF TRUTH
PLATFORMS: XBOX 360, PLAYSTATION 3, PC Trey Parker and Matt Stone have conquered television, film, and Broadway. Now the powerhouse duo behind South Park, Team America, and The Book of Mormon is unleashing its searing brand of humor on video games. Ubisoft bought the rights to the title from THQ in January and is finally sharing the twisted take on gaming with the world. Parker and Stone oversaw the entire production, from writing the script to providing the signature voices of characters. Players assume the role of a kid who just moved to South Park and who now must battle through waves of hippies, crab people, and goths to prevent the pending doom. Watch out for that bastard Cartman. PLAY IF YOU LIKE: South Park, Final Fantasy, Lord of the Rings

When the publishing company Edition Reuss first approached me to do a book back in 2008, I told them that I wanted to do a book on blackwork tattooing—work just in black ink. I believe that it is tattooing in its purest form and continues the traditions of tattooing in indigenous cultures, even if the patterns and compositions are largely contemporary.

The trick is to develop the right packing strategy. First and foremost, keep in mind that traveling can wreak havoc on your skin.

GIBBS QUADSKI
$40,000
The Quadski is meant to be ridden hard and hung up wet. This amphibious off-roader can take its pilot where the road turns to trail, and where the trail empties into water, utilizing a unique design that combines the muscle of an ATV with the speed and finesse of a watercraft. The concept is simple: Once you’ve kicked up enough dust on the trail, you scan the horizon for the nearest watery expanse, and then try to turn off the part of your brain that’s telling you not to drive your $40,000 ATV into a lake.

DOMINATOR TRACK SYSTEMS
There aren’t any vehicles capable of tackling swampland as well as they handle ice, snow, and desert terrain... or are there? Dominator Track Systems are like a motivational speaker for your 4x4, unleashing the animal within. With the twisting of a few bolts, you can replace your tires with American steel tread frames that self-clean, won’t clog up, and reduce your truck’s ground pressure to fewer than two pounds per square inch, turning any bog or snow bank into a trail. Installing the Dominator system is as easy as changing a tire—into something way cooler than a tire.

TERRAFUGIA TRANSITION
There are some antiquated premonitions of the future that haven’t come true yet, and that’s probably for the best (we’re looking at you, meal pills and mole-man overlords), but the flying car has always seemed within the reach of the human collective. Enter the Terrafugia Transition, a fitting name not only for its role in bridging the gap between automobile and aircraft, but for the way it shifts from one to the other. In under a minute, the wings unfold in a swift, actuated movement that prepares your ride for the sky. As an automobile, the Transition is capable of cruising along at 70 mph, and it gets decent mileage at 35 mpg. And the very same engine goes on to power the Transition’s propeller, shooting this work of art through the clouds at 100 mph.

You can even operate your own bulldozer or excavator should you get a sudden urge for construction instead of destruction. Don't worry if you get hooked—Tank Town USA is licensed and bonded to sell armored military vehicles to the public. What a country. —Nick Fierro

There is no such thing as a typical day at work when you are part of the Bang Bang NYC family. Any given moment, you may come in and find yourself in the middle of an exclusive New York City art gallery, or playing a round of mini golf with some of the best tattooists in the business, or even hanging out with one of the New York Knicks.

INKED: With Hong Kong having its first tattoo convention, do you feel like the culture is embracing tattoo art? WANG: It is commonplace for people in Hong Kong to cover their tattoos around the older generations. There is still a strong stigma against the tattooed for those over 50, but in Hong Kong more and more people have visible and quite often nicelooking tattoos.
