I own a 1980 Honda XL185S and I've been debating buying a bigger airbox and jumping the carburetion up from a 24mm to a 26mm. What kind of results can I expect in the torque and horsepower departments? G.W. CB900F SPORT FAIRING
Hondaline’s CBX-style sport fairing conforms to standard CB900 bars and the flatter bars offered in Honda’s Sport Kit. Inner and outer shells are made of injection molded ABS plastic and two roomy pockets are provided. Rectangular mirrors are designed to complement the racy look of the fairing and give vibration-free vision. Optional quartz clock, volt meter, altimeter and temperature gauge are available. The fairing has provisions to accept any two gauges. It’s available from Honda dealers in black or silver with color-coordinated striping.

Champion Moriwaki has a 593cc big bore kit for 550cc Kawasakis. The 60mm, 10.5:1 pressure-cast, two-ring pistons come complete with rings, wrist pins, circlips and gaskets for $265. The Phoenix is handmade from three types of fiberglass then lined with expanded polystyrene, combining to pass Snell's tough 1980 standards. Retention is via a 1 in. wide chin strap and steel Drings.
