ONE OF THE main attractions at the recently convened round of motorcycle trade shows staged by Motorcycle Dealer News was a movie being shown on the continuous projector in the Webco booth. The 200-ft., 8mm, color film is called “Cycle Racing Review.” It runs for about 12 minutes, and depicts the motocross at Ontario last year, speedway at Orange County, TT at Ascot, the Champion 200 at Ontario and the CYCLE WORLD Grand Prix at Saddleback.

EVER WONDER what those super secret development engineers in Japan are up to? Ever wish you could buy some of the resulting ultra-horsepower parts before they are shelved or are installed on production motorcycles? Most of us have been in this position, and now relief is in sight for Yamaha owners pondering these questions.

YOU'VE HEARD a lot about No-Fault Insurance recently—mostly glowing claims about how it will solve all the problems of vehicle insurance, but also some grumbled warnings that it could prove disasterous for motorcyclists. Most of what you've seen has consisted of specific examples, dramatic details, and other assorted trivia that makes very effective propaganda to advance a point of view, but that provides no basic background information so that you can form your own viewpoint on the matter.

YAMAHA’S DT3 Enduro is truly an incredible motorcycle. Here’s a bike that has changed very little, yet has remained a top seller for the past five years. That’s right. For Five Years. Perhaps the reason Yamaha has enjoyed such a long run with its 250 Enduro is that it was first...the first Japanese, that is, to build a machine designed specifically for the American dirt rider.

MANY OF today's stamp collectors are taking a new approach to the world's most popular collecting hobby—topical collecting. To become a topical collector, the rules are simple. Just pick a topic of interest and collect only stamps that are related to that specific subject.

VAUGHN M. GREENE
TO THE COMPLETE motorcyclist, one of the more fascinating aspects of his hobby is postage stamps which show motorcycles. True, these play a very minor part in philately, but just unearthing the stamps available is fun—and cheap. Most countries have, at one time or another, printed a stamp showing a motorcycle, and digging these up makes for an enjoyable hobby.

ENDURO COMPUTER
$149.95
A solid-state computer has been introduced by Emhiser Rand Industries for use in motorcycle enduros. The Model EC128A Enduro Computer utilizes linear and digital integrated circuits to provide maximum reliability under enduro contest conditions. Two sets of thumbwheel switches allow pre-setting two average speeds in the range of 0 to 99 mph. A speed selector switch allows switching between them during the stages of the race. As each course section is completed, the selector switch is changed to the next speed average (which has been preset). The next following stage speed average is then set in on the inactive thumbwheel switches. The computed course distance is read out on a digital indicator with a resolution of 0.01 mile. The indicator has a pushbutton reset for zeroing the unit before the start of each race. The unit is available in either a 6V or 12V version, and lists for $149.95. Additional information is available from Emhiser Rand Industries, Dept. CW-5, 7221 Convoy Court, San Diego, CA 92111.
